    Failure to Identify: When requested by a member of law enforcement during a traffic stop, Terry stop, or other legal investigation tying you directly into the investigation, a member of the public is required to identify upon request of the officer. A member is not required to identify to a police officer if they have been illegally stopped without probable cause.


    The offense of Failure to Identify is considered a misdemeanor and is punishable by up to $5,000 and 60 months imprisonment.
