    • Definition of Manslaughter
      Manslaughter is the act of killing a human being in a manner that is less culpable than murder, but still results in the death of another person.

    • Voluntary Manslaughter
      Voluntary Manslaughter is defined as intentionally killing another person in the heat of passion and in response to adequate provocation, where the person is deceased upon trial or sentencing.

    • Vehicular Manslaughter
      Vehicular Manslaughter is defined as negligently or intentionally causing the death of another person using a vehicle, resulting in the deceased person being identified at trial or sentencing.

    • Involuntary Manslaughter
      Involuntary Manslaughter is defined as negligently causing the death of another person, with the person being deceased upon trial or sentencing.

    • Penalties
      The offense of C1(C): Manslaughter is considered a misdemeanour, punishable by up to 65 months imprisonment and a minimum fine of $25,550.
