- No Duty to Retreat – A civilian, when faced with the threat of violence, injury, or loss of property, is not required to flee. There is no legal obligation for civilians to retreat from a threat when they are acting in their own defense.
- Defense Against Threats – In situations where a civilian is confronted with the threat of violence, injury, or theft (including burglary or robbery), the civilian has the right to defend themselves by any reasonable means necessary, up to and including the use of lethal force, to prevent the threat from occurring or continuing.
